WAY OF ESCAPE

*Way of Escape*                                        1 Corinthians 10:1-13
*“No temptation[c] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted[d] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[e] He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”*. 1 Corinthians 10:13

When constructing a house, the law requires that there must be provision for a way of escape in case of emergency. When believers face temptation, God always provides a way out so that we don’t just give in and fall into sin. Each time we overcome; we grow.

In this scripture, Apostle Paul brings to our attention that the children of Israel faced many trials, challenges and temptations along the way, as they returned to the Promise Land from Egypt, the land of their captivity. Unfortunately, instead of turning to God, trusting and depending on Him, they grumbled and sinned against God.

Temptations will come our way as we journey towards our promised home above. But how we respond to them determines whether they will make or break us. God is with us, and will deliver us from every temptation, if we trust Him. “And God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you stand up under it.”

Insight: The way of escape out of temptation can be seen through faith in God

Prayer: Teach me Lord God to trust you and look up to you as my way of escape from temptation.
